Previous Experience: Brickell is a Kent State graduate with a degree in early childhood education. She has worked as an educational aide and has been a regular substitute for area schools.
Hobbies: Brickell’s hobbies include watching her children’s sporting events, attending concerts, and making memories with friends and family.
Favorite School Memory: Her favorite school memory is making friends that have lasted into adulthood.

Name: Mason Middleton
Position: Math Teacher
Previous Experience: Mason is a returning Lion, having previously taught at Minerva Middle School. After a brief stint at a neighboring District, he is happy to be coming back!
Hobbies: Mason’s hobbies include playing a round of golf and he is known to dominate a video game or two.
Favorite School Memory: His favorite school memory was the seventh grade class trip to Baltimore.
Most Looking Forward To This Year: Mr. Middleton is most looking forward to the opportunity to teach college credit plus courses this year at Minerva High School.

Name: Maddie Foutz
Position: Tutor, MMS
Previous Experience: The recent Kent State University graduate completed her student teaching last fall at Carrollton and currently works as the membership engagement specialist and a wellness attendant at the Minerva YMCA.
Hobbies: Maddie is a big nature lover! She likes her houseplants and admits to having too many of them. She enjoys going on walks with her dogs and also fishing.
Favorite School Memory: Maddie’s favorite school memory is choir class in high school with Mrs. Imler and her junior season of basketball. She got to make fun memories with her friends with both of those experiences.
Most Looking Forward To This Year: Maddie was able to sub a lot last school year for the upcoming seventh grade group, and is excited to get to see and work with those kids who she has already started to get to know!

Name: Mackenzie Scott
Position: 4th Grade Intervention Specialist, MES
Previous Experience: The graduate of Youngstown State University previously taught at Northwest Local as an intervention specialist at Northwest Primary as well as coached cross country and track at the varsity level.
Hobbies: Mackenzie enjoys running, coaching, boating with her family, and going to the beach in the summer.
Favorite School Memory: When teaching in Northwest, after their Cinderella module, they celebrated with a ball; had a dance, dressed up, and made crowns. They had so much fun!
Most Looking Forward To This Year: Mackenzie is excited to collaborate with an incredible fourth grade team and engage with the students!

Previous Experience: The Perry High School graduate attended Malone College and Salem International University. Tim comes to us with over twenty years of experience as a teacher and coach, most recently serving as dean of students at Perry High School.
Hobbies: Tim enjoys coaching, boating, and camping with his family.
Favorite School Memory: Tim’s favorite school memory is coaching in three-State championship games in two different sports.
Most Looking Forward To This Year: Making positive connections with the Minerva staff, students, and community.

Read on to learn a bit about Chad:
Name: Chad Hilliard
Position: Assistant Principal, MES
Previous Experience: The graduate of Mount Union and Walsh University spent all but one year of his career here at Minerva prior to joining Marlington last year as the athletic director and an assistant principal at the high school. He was the physical education teacher at Minerva Elementary and even a kindergarten teacher for a short stint, also coaching varsity wrestling for many years.
Hobbies: Chad enjoys camping, fishing, cooking, growing his garden, and watching sports.
Favorite School Memory: Chad’s favorite memory from when he was in school was when his entire second grade class got perfect scores on a spelling test and they all got dilly bars from DQ! As a professional, his favorite memory as a teacher was getting to teach his first year at West Elementary. Sitting with Mr. Scott for his first fifth grade band concert is something he will never forget!
Most Looking Forward To This Year: Mr. Hilliard is looking forward to being excited about coming to school everyday! He states, “We have a team full of problem solvers and it motivates me to give maximum effort to make sure our staff and students get the attention and support that helps them be their best.”

Name: Cheryl Firestone
Position: Bus Driver
Previous Experience: Cheryl has over 30 years of experience driving, with a good chunk of that previously spent here at Minerva Local.
Hobbies: Cheryl loves spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoys gardening and seeing everything come to life in the Spring! She also enjoys driving the children to and from school and hearing about their day, their likes and dislikes and what they want to do or be when they grow up!
Favorite School Memory: All the friends she made and spending time with them.
Most Looking Forward To This Year: Meeting new kids and hopefully seeing some of the kiddos that were on her route when she drove for Minerva a few years ago.

Previous Experience: The graduate of Western Governor's University and Loras College has previously spent the first third of his career at Perry Local as an intervention specialist and coach.
Hobbies: Zach enjoys working on odds and ends around the house, most recently completing a pavilion for his patio area.
Favorite School Memory: Zach’s favorite memories revolve around his time as a student, being a part of multiple sports programs, speech and debate, and theater.
Most Looking Forward To This Year: Zach is looking forward to getting to know all the students and staff and building relationships with them which he feels is key to be successful in anything.

Name: Mark Scott
Position: Superintendent
Previous Experience: The Muskingum University and Kent State graduate has led a successful educational career. Mr. Scott’s career spans 24 years in education, including 15 years in administration at both the building and central office levels. Prior to his superintendency, he spent five years as Principal of Minerva Elementary, where he led the school’s transformation from an Academic Watch designation to a high-performing academic elementary school.
Hobbies: Mark enjoys reading, spending time with family on the pontoon boat, attending high school fine arts and athletic events, and cheering on the Cleveland Guardians and Browns.
Favorite School Memory: Mr. Scott always finds great joy in attending graduation ceremonies, award programs, concerts, plays, and athletic events to honor and celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students, staff, and families each year.
Most Looking Forward To This Year: “Returning to my home district of Minerva Local as the Superintendent is a dream come true! Go Lions!”
