The Minerva Girls Golf Team is headed back to the state tournament for the second consecutive year after capturing the OHSAA Division I East/Southeast District Championship at Crystal Springs Golf Course.

The Lady Lions delivered a great team performance, finishing in first place with a total team score of 345 to secure the district title ahead of runner-up Marietta (353). The victory caps off an amazing championship run this season, adding to their titles as Tri-County League Champs, Eastern Buckeye Conference (EBC) Champs, and Sectional Champs.

Minerva boasted three golfers in the top ten individual standings:

  • Peyton placed 2nd overall.

  • Emery finished in 4th place.

  • Delaney earned a 6th-place finish.

"Two years running, our girls have punched their ticket to state. I am very proud of all the hard work and dedication these girls have put in for this moment. We are excited to compete at the state championships. The girls will be more confident after last year's experience," said head coach Kenny Beaumariage.

The Lady Lions will now compete in the OHSAA Division I State Golf Meet on October 12 & 13 at the NCR Country Club in Dayton, Ohio.
