Minerva, OH — The Minerva Lions cheerleading squad has captured the Division IV State Championship title, following an outstanding performance at the OHSAA state competition held at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
The Lions swept the major categories in their division:
🥇 Best of Band Dance — Minerva
🥇 Best of Crowd Leading — Minerva
🥇 Best of Fight Song — Minerva
The team returned home to a wonderful winterland welcome, receiving a special escort into town from the Sandy Creek Joint Fire District!
Recognition and Celebration
The community is invited to celebrate the State Champions at the upcoming Boys Basketball Game vs Fairless:
Team Recognition: The MHS Cheerleaders will be officially recognized on Saturday, December 27, during the Boys Basketball game vs Fairless.
Open House Celebration: Immediately following the game on December 27, an Open House will be held in the Library to continue celebrating the State Champions.
