MINERVA, Ohio – Students at Minerva High School led a solemn assembly this morning to commemorate the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. The entire student body gathered to honor the memory of the victims and to pay tribute to the nation's first responders, law enforcement, and military members who dedicate their lives to public safety.
The ceremony featured powerful patriotic performances by the Minerva Chamber Choir and the MHS Band.
Teacher Julie Holderbaum delivered a heartwarming message, reflecting on her own experience learning of the day's tragic events while in her classroom. Her address centered on expressing profound gratitude for the brave men and women who serve our communities and country.
The Minerva FFA, guided by Kyle Lucas, also played a key role in the event. They led a presentation that included patriotic readings and moments of remembrance, underscoring the assembly's respectful and commemorative tone.
Principal Andy Mangun remarked, "It is incredibly important for our students to understand the significance of this day and to honor those who sacrificed so much, as well as those who continue to protect us."
