My name is Mr. Sean Kocher and I will be your child's math teacher. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself both personally and professionally.
I have been a teacher at Minerva for eleven years. Prior to teaching I attended Mount Union College, where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Since then I earned a Masters in Curriculum, Assessment and Developments from Walden, and just recently was awarded the designation of “Master Teacher” from the state of Ohio. I am also entering my sixteenth year of coaching.
I have been happily married for nine years to my wife Wendy. We have two children; Kailynn and Addyson. Kailynn just turned six in June and Addyson four this July. Kai started first grade this year in Minerva and Addy is enrolled in pre-school. This has brought big changes and a new focus in the Kocher household. I am dedicated to my family and will bring the same love, compassion, and expectations I have for my children to your child.
My goal, my mission as a teacher is that I believe that I have the responsibility to both educate and nurture our students while they are beginning their individual lives. I take my job very seriously, and I will fully dedicate my time in making your child a life-long learner.
I want to build a strong commitment to both you and your child based upon respect and understanding that we all are different in our own ways. In return I will expect cooperation and respect from your child.
I look forward to a great school year with you and your child. You are the most important and influential person in your child's life. Together we can make this year wonderful for all of us. Please call me at the school if you have any questions or concerns about your child. For those of you, who are capable; please feel free to email me.
